The Family Bit First
March was my birthday, so a friend and I enjoyed a day downtown, lunch at Chambar, and a matinee performance of Les Misérables (because we’re getting too old to do the late evening shows!).
Noah & Mattaya got a dog and are enjoying him, training, walking etc. As they live in Prince George with long winters and lots of snow, they called him, a white Great Pyrenees, “Winter”.

The Real Estate Bit
Sales and listings are up over last month in the Fraser Valley, and I’ve noticed an uptick in how busy I am with both listings and sales. While it’s a bit busier, the prices are still down and I don’t see that changing any time soon.
We had the CEO of BC Real Estate Association speaking at our office a couple of weeks ago to address both the Cowichan and Musqueum decisions, and while there is still uncertainty about the future and how these will directly affect home owners, what he did say is that as a result of the decisions, no private property (fee simple) has been invalidated (see the link I provided to the Cowichan decision).
Section 35 of our constitution is clear that aboriginal rights exist and need to be recognized, and that’s where we find ourselves today – working through this. What we do know, is that Aboriginal title and private property interests can exist contemporaneously over the same lands.
While this is an unsettling time, but don’t believe everything you hear and read on social media! However, I think that there is more uncertainty for us to come and I imagine that there may be more decisions that could affect many more areas, not just Richmond, Surrey & Burnaby.
Spring Outdoors: Simple Joys Close to Home

As the days get longer and the air turns warmer, spring invites us to step outside and reconnect with nature. Whether it’s a quick walk around the neighbourhood or a visit to a nearby trail, these small outdoor moments can feel like a reset after the winter months. For families, it’s an easy way to spend time together — no big plans needed.
Growing Something Together
Spring is also the perfect time to start a small garden, even if it’s just a few pots on a balcony or windowsill. Planting herbs, flowers, or vegetables can be a fun, hands-on activity for all ages. Watching something grow over the season brings a sense of accomplishment — and adds a little extra life to your home.
Weekend Walks & Local Trails
Exploring local parks or trails can quickly become a weekend tradition. From spotting early blooms to enjoying fresh air and open space, spring walks are a simple way to unwind and recharge. Pack a snack, take your time, and let the season set the pace — sometimes the best plans are the most relaxed ones.
Making the Most of Your Space
Spring is also a great time to enjoy your home in new ways. Opening up patios, tidying outdoor spaces, or simply bringing a bit of greenery indoors can make your space feel refreshed and ready for the season ahead. Small changes can go a long way in creating a home that feels both comfortable and inviting.
Spring doesn’t have to be busy to be meaningful. A few simple moments — indoors or out — can make the season feel just right.
