Over the years, Langley has grown from a small town to a popular urban landscape. Yet, while Langley has been expanded and developed to accommodate more and more people, it has never lost that small town feeling. As a Langley REALTOR®, I have seen the value of purchasing a home and raising a family in an area that offers many wonderful attractions and amenities. If you have recently moved to the Langley area or are planning a visit this summer, here are some of my recommendations for the best places to visit in Langley this summer.
Fort Langley National Historic Site
The Fort Langley National Historic Site recreates the rugged 1800’s. Once inside the rough-hewn timber walls, you will get to experience where the Hudson’s Bay Company fur traders mingled with California gold prospectors. You can also watch live demonstrations with costumed interpreters, hear First Nations interpreters tell century-old tales, feel the thrill of the stories on the Fort Langley audio tour, or even sleep over in a trader-themed oTENTik (a cross between an A-frame cabin and a prospector tent).
Campbell Valley Regional Park
There is so much more to Campbell Valley than the 29km’s of hiking trails, 1km of biking trails, and 14km’s of horseback riding trails. For the new Langley locals or those visiting our fair town, it might come as a surprise to discover that Campbell Valley has a racetrack tucked away within the lush growth and extensive trails. The historic Langley Speedway was once an active racetrack from the 1960’s to the early 1980’s. It was one of the only few sites in BC to host Nascar events.
Derby Reach Regional Park
Krause Berry Farms offers a wide variety of entertainment for people of all ages. From their U-pick fields to their cooking experiences, from their market and bakery to their estate winery, Krause Berry Farms is one of the best places to visit in Langley this summer. Krause Berry Farms also offers group tours and is a venue option for weddings and events.
